Bush, walking off stage after the Ft. Bragg speech. Notice how no one is clapping. Looks like they want to kick his monkey ass
Hooah???

Good morning, I don't have time right now to come up with a comic using the hilarious Monkey face pics of Bush doing the real speech. (I did one before the actual speech using old pics, but these new ones are just too good to pass up) But I will get it out soon. Meantime here are some interesting stories, and videos. see you soon. H.L.

Democratic Underground

Video: Fox News Tries To Spin Fake Applause

Excerpt: If you haven't heard, the only applause during the Bush speech was started by a Bush staffer. When FOX News heard of this they had to spin the news so it wouldn't make Bush look like a clown. Fair and balanced my ass! On the positive side it is a little funny that even Fox News admits that the applause was fake. H.L.s Take: Even Fox News now knows that everyone hates the Monkey. Let the impeachment begin

NY Times

So what happened to the applause? Troops' silence at Fort Bragg starts a debate all its own

Excerpt: Terry Moran, an ABC News White House correspondent, said on the air on Tuesday night that the first to clap appeared to be a woman who works for the White House, arranging events. Some other reporters had the same account,

H.L.s Take: The title of the story I wrote about a week ago sums this up perfectly. Everybody Knows, George. Even the soliders that used to be your best friends.

Rueters

Career-low TV audience for Bush's Iraq speech

Excerpt: Bush's speech on Tuesday night at the Ft. Bragg military base in North Carolina averaged 23 million viewers combined on the four major U.S. broadcast networks and three leading cable news channels networks that carried the speech, Nielsen said. That number was 8.6 million viewers below Bush's previous low as president, his Aug. 9, 2001 speech on stem cell research, which was carried on six networks.

H.L.s Take: So, the approval rating is now below what it was before September 11, if we had a free press, his approval rating would be about 30%

Guest Viewpoint: The party's over for betrayed Republican

Excerpt: My party has repeatedly ignored, discarded and even invented science to suit its needs, most spectacularly as to global warming. We have an opportunity and the responsibility to lead the world on this issue, but instead we've chosen greed, shortsightedness and deliberate ignorance.

H.L.s Take: there used to be a time in this country where intelligent people could debate, and actually consider what the other side had to say. Sometimes people would even change thier minds about a certain topic. There are a few people left who can change if they don't like what they see and hear, but not many.

Prison Planet

Video Interview: Former IRS Agent Joe Banister

Excerpt: On Thursday June 23, a federal jury found former IRS Criminal Investigative Division (CID) Special Agent and CPA Joseph Banister not guilty of all counts alleging criminal tax fraud and conspiracy related to actions he took on behalf of a California business owner who had openly defied the IRS over several years by stopping withholding of all income and employment taxes from the paychecks of his workers.

H.L.s Take: I feel very guilty about paying any taxes to the federal government when I know that half that money is going to Bush debacle in Iraq. You know this decision will be overturned by a higher court, even though it will clearly go against whatever laws Bannister found to win his case. The whole Income Tax Law that was originally passed was a complete scam.

AP

Time Magazine to Hand Over Reporter Notes

Excerpt: Columnist Robert Novak, who was the first to identify the CIA agent in print, told CNN he "will reveal all" after the matter is resolved, adding that it is wrong for the government to jail journalists. Novak, who has not been held in contempt, has not commented on his involvement in the investigation.

H.L.s Take: How come Novak isn't being jailed for refusing to reveal his source about the Plame leak, oh yeah, because hes a Republican.
